What Causes Chronic And Prolonged Stomach Ache In A Child?
My daughter is 14. She has had stomach aches for many years. She recently has had an endoscope which was completely clear. She has pcos. Her diet Hasn t been altered extremely. She also has 3 aneurysmal cysts. 2 near her spinal cord and one in T12. She is presently under treatment for that and is scheduled for her 2nd surgery. Her Drs say this is not affecting her stomach. However she has missed a lot of school because she has a stomach ache and doesn t feel well. But there is some thing definitely wrong. She has had an abdominal ultra sound, CT and MRI. I don t know what to do or where to turn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. Thanks for your query. If all the tests are normal and has a finding of the aneurysmal cysts as noted for which surgery has already been done, the most probable reason for pain in the abdomen of a child of 14 years old daughter can be due to : Irritable bowel Syndrome, commonly called as IBS. Abdominal epilepsy Vascular problems. Referred pain from spinal compression is another possibility.
