What Causes Chronic Back Pain After An Old Collapsed Lung Injury?

About 3 years ago I was stabbed in the back 3 times. I had a collapsed lung that was fixed & treated. I am now having alot of back pain everyday three years later. I have no insurance and I was wondering if I splurge for a doctor, what tests would likley be done to determine the source of my pain? Would I likley be prescribed painkillers? If so, what?

Hello,

I don't think your Collapsed lung is causing back pain after 3 years. In my opinion, you must be having some lumber spine related pathology for your back pain.

So, it is better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination of back. You will need chest x-ray, x-ray and MRI of lumber spine. You may also need painkillers like ibuprofen, diclofenac or acetaminophen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
