Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctors! Can you please describe the normal rough and bumpy tissue on labia minor, by comparing it to something else that is fairly common? I have always been rough and bumpy so I think its normal but right now I have a yeast infection and I feel very dry (aside from that white odorless itchy stuff) and am more aware of the rough aspect which led me to this site. Thanks so much. I had a normal pap smear last year and have been rough and bumpy for decades. It just feels dryer and therefore rougher. It sucks. Im going to use my cream lol Also does coconut oil or unsweetened yogurt work when applied topically on yeast infections? If so, how should they be used?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Recurrent yeast infections or bartholinitis can give such problem. A swab test will be helpful to rule out yeast or bacterial infection. I would suggest using vaginal tab containing combination of clindamycin and clotrimazole for such condition. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area. You can use saline or warm water for this. Use mild detergents for your undergarments. Using intimate wash regularly will be helpful also. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
