Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Cold Along With Sore Throat And Cough?
I am just recovering from a very severe cold/sore throat/body shaking cough and noticed a lump at times when the cough was harsh and repetitive (almost couldn t breathe). The lump has never been painful except during the cough. I can move it around a little and it seems to disappear. Is this hernia related or a lymph gland issue that will probably go away with time?
As per your symptoms you were suffering from respiratory tract infection.Due to that your lymph nodes and tonsils got enlarged and you are feeling lump like swelling. As soon as infection completely ends it will disappear.
You can take antibiotics Amoxycillin for 5 days for it.As you have recoverd from infection therefore there is little need for antibiotics.it will as such disappear soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR, Dentist
