HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Diarrhea is most often due to infection of the gastrointestinal tract. This infection is usually viral or bacterial and tends to last 3 to 7 days usually though it can sometimes last longer.
Treatment: (1) avoid all solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no diarrhea
If you use solids before your intestines are ready, it would delay healing.
When it is time to eat, initially use only small amounts of dry food such as bread, biscuits. If this is tolerated, then you can start to change the types
(2)fluids and electrolyte replacement is important to prevent or treat
dehydration eg oral hydration packets or sport drinks
(3)probiotics can help heal the intestines
(4)medication to stop the diarrhea is not recommended usually because it keeps the virus or bacteria in. Only use if the diarrhea lasts very long eg more than the 7 days or you have to travel a long distance
I hope this helps
