I have always been extra sensitive to cigarette smoke. 3 weeks ago I sat in one of the few smoking restaurants near a table of smokers....I had a meeting. I left after being around the smoking for an hour, rode home with my windows down partially. I have had this chronic cough, chest hurting, wheezing, headache occasionally, ears hurting...for much of the 3 weeks. Took a Z Pac. Tried nebulizer. Better for a few days then back worse after I had been outside in cold air a little and around animals at the Zoo in buildings. If I get up and start coughing, I get dizzy. First Urgent Care visit, NP said bronchitis. Second visit, Doctor said emphysema, probably due to secondhand smoke exposure as a child. My dad was a very heavy smoker and had COPD. Your take on this? Should I have some tests done? Will the coughing fit run its course soon? I have noticed shortness of breath lately and attributed it to a small weight gain.
