What Causes Chronic Cough Along With Wheezing?

I have been sick for a couple months with a cough, wet for a long time, the bark is gone but I m still clearing out really dark grey mucus and I also wheezed for a solid month but juet assumed it was apart of a cold.nI woke up with night sweats and a chill today that would not go away. I smoke pot so maintain somewhat of an appetite but it s really not but I am eating. I m more concerned about the pain that started s few days ago in my right lower back. I started my period 3 days ago so I thought the pain was related but today it s radiated toward my middle back around my hip and comes unbearable then goes awa. I have not done anything to pull a muscle. I keep stretching in attempts to make it better but it s not helping. It s a lot like a kidney infection pain I had and I m worried I may have another.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

With such presentations in my clinic, I would first rule out your cough and wheezing by doing a full blood count and a chest x-ray which will clarify all your doubts if it is viral or bacterial if viral only supportive treatment is required and if it is due to bacterial then I may advise you antibiotics like Ceftriaxone. For back pain you can take any painkiller and it might be due to your periods and if pain is unbearable then I may advise you to do 1 pelvic ultrasound to confirm it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
