Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have a question, suppose a 72 years of age, had a chronic, productive cough with blood in the sputum, fatigue, and night sweats. His WBC is high and polymorphonuclear neutrophil levels are also high. Would this patient have pneumonia or tuberculosis?
Hi, I think he can be having tuberculosis. All the symptoms are pointing towards tb except the high polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Get a sputum checked for AFB. It will confirm the diagnosis.
