What Causes Chronic Cough And Fatigue With History Of Having Pulmonary Sarcoidosis?
I was treated for Pulmonary sarcoidosis in 1965 being diagnosed with a lung biopsy.I now have a chronic cough that I ve had for over one and a half years. I have fatigue and hearing loss. I also have type one diabetes (for 57 years) and heart problems. My primary care physican prescribed Flonase which hasn t done anything. I would like to have a chest xray to look into a possible return of the Sarcoidosis. What do you think? YYYY@YYYY
As per my clinical experience, the chronic cough with fatigue in person with history of pulmonary sarcoidosis is most likely return of the sarcoidosis condition. There may be various reasons for such issue as immune suppression, flare via underlying infection through bacteria or virus affecting respiratory tract or others. Kindly discuss the need of an X-ray chest with your doc for best treatment initiation and further guidelines.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
