Hello,

The fact that you have so many spread symptoms affecting you ears, chest, sinuses and also the fact that others in around you have had similar symptoms increases the chances that you are having a viral infection.

The blocked ears and the muffled sounds are normal with viral infections and are due to the blockage of the tube that drains the ear in the throat called Eustachian tube. This tube may be blocked for a few weeks and the patient might feel the blocked ears for this long and there is nothing to worry.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, do some nasal lavage with saline solution to help with the sinusitis, local nasal steroids might help improve the sinusitis and swelling of the Eustachian tube quicker.
Taking some paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain will help.

If you notice no improvement in the next few days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
