What Causes Chronic Cough Inspite Of Taking Antibiotics?

I ve had a chronic cough for over a month and nothing clears it up. I ve been through two courses of antibiotics, had a chest xray to rule of brochitus, tried Nexium in case it is GERD, and my physician changed my blood pressure meds. Nothing works and it is not getting any better. I m taking cough medicine every night to help sleep. Any direction?

Hi,

Does cough comes with sputum? Do you have weight loss? I suggest you to take

1.Sputum culture to rule out Tuberculosis.

2.Consult your cardiologist to rule out any cardiac disease, If all directions are blank then the final diagnosis will be by performing Endoscopy.

3.Mean while you can take syrup Robitussin DM (guaifenesin with dextromethorphan) take honey tea as honey is natural cough suppresent, with efficient amount of fluid.
