What Causes Chronic Coughing In A Sickle Cell Anemia Patient?
hi i am sickle cell patient 22 yrs old male 2 back history of acute chest syndrome . i have chronic coughing it get provoke when i take something sweet drinks,tea and fruits. i can now what is the probably cause . please explain by medical language because i am nurse, and thank you .
Coughing is due to inflammation or irritation of some aspect of the respiratory airway.
It can be acute or chronic (lasts at least 6 to 6 weeks).
The most common causes of chronic coughing are: post nasal drip, GERD and asthma though they are also other causes. If your cough is chronic then it is possible that it is related to one of these which may be provoked by the use of particular food products.
