What Causes Chronic Diarrhea After Taking Magnesium Citrate?
Was experiencing tooth pain, took vicodin for a couple days...as a result, experienced very uncomfortable constipation for 3 days...took about 4 Oz of magnesium citrate....2 hours ago, it worked but now I am having extreme diarrhea (bristol scale #7) should intake a half of an imodium to relieve the diarrhea or just try to ride it out and suffer through it?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chronic diarrhea after taking Magnesium citrate . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are due to Magnesium citrate as its side effects . There can be other reasons also like gastritis or IBS . I would suggest you to gastroenetrologidt for proper diagnosis and discuss the condition with him/her . Doctor may prescrinbe substitute or alter the dose . Doctor may also prescribe lopramide , ornidazole or laxative along with muscle relaxant . For now stop taking Magnesium citrate and eat fibrous diet and drink plenty of water .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
