What Causes Chronic Diarrhea Along With Abdominal Bloating Post Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy 3+ years ago. I have had chronic diarrhea with bloating and gas every day, several times a day, since that time. I have had numerous tests with no results. I hardly dare to go out of the house for any length of time if I m not sure a bathroom will be close by. Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
Chronic diarrhea can be due to different causes such as : (a) irritable bowel syndrome (b)infections (c)inflammatory bowel disease (d) intolerance to certain foods (e)lactose intolerance (f)side effect of medication (g)endocrine disorders- hyperthyroidism, diabetes
You would have likely had stool tests to check for infections and may have also had screening for inflammatory bowel disease.
If you have not been screened for diabetes and thyroid disease then this should be done.
In addition, you should also consider a food diary to see if there are any particular foods that cause this problem.
I hope this helps
