What Causes Chronic Diarrhea And Abdominal Bloating?
Hi, I went to the doctors because of constant and sometimes uncontrollable diarrhea. They diagnosed me with colitis. However, now i can t get sleep because I m in pain. my stomach feel swollen/bloated, i keep get pain in my center abdomen and lower right abdomen. I don t know if this means it is getting worse. so my question is how can i tell if it could be getting worse?
If the doctor diagnosed you with colitis very likely he has also prescribed medications for it. If you are using the medications regularly and you see no improvement or your symptoms are getting worse it means it is worsening or the treatment is not helping so you will need to talk with your doctor and decide on further treatment.
Make sure meanwhile you keep yourself well hydrated, drinking frequent small amount of fluids, and avoid spicy food, fast food or food that irritates your stomach like fat and very sweet food. Having fruit and vegetables is healthy, you might need to avoid milk and take yogurt and cheese instead.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
