hello, I ve had loose watery stool for about 27 hrs now and just the evening noticed there is blood in them. Quite a bit and it s brighter red. I also took my temp and it s 96.5 and not sure if I should go to the ER or make a doc apt tomorrow or if it s an ulcer and no big deal. MY stomach feels tender like I ve done alot of sit ups or something and some pressure in lower back but no burning or stabbing sensations. I m just not sure what to do

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That sounds like enteritis that may be of bacterial or parasitic origin. I will suggest you see the doctor for examination and a stool exam/culture as a course of antibiotics may be needed. In the meantime, you may try the following:
• Take oral rehydration salt to replenish fluid and ions losses
• An antispasmodic pain drug like Spasfon
• If diarrhea is too frequent, you take an anti-diarrheal like Imodium

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
