What Causes Chronic Diarrhea, Leg Cramps And Tiredness While On Antibiotics?
went to the ER on the 3rd, gave me antiobotic for a UTI, started having severe diarrhea and upset stomach the day after, my legs started hurting, like cramping up.... im tired all the time, not hungry at all,, I just feel sick. called the ER today, nurse checked my chart ,and told me to stop taking the medicine, that my UTI was negative.
All medications have potential side effects that may or may not occur. Most antibiotics can potentially cause gastrointestinal side effects so it is likely that it was the cause of your diarrhea, nausea.
The loss of fluids and electrolytes from the diarrhea would have contributed to the fatigue and loss of appetite as well as the leg pain. If your symptoms do not improve then you should see your doctor for an assessment to see if there is another cause.
I hope this helps
