What Causes Chronic Diarrhea?
I have been dealing with diarrhea for several days now and today it is running black. There have been no changes in my diet and I have been taking metformin and glyburide for several years for my type 2 diabetes. I am not havig any other noticeable conditions such as fatigue or cramping.

Hello,
For labeling diarrhea as chronic duration should be at least six weeks. For diarrhea workup done as follow. Stool routine micro examination and occult blood test. Stool culture if needed. If stool reports show any organism then treated accordingly. If stool shows parasite, then the anthelmintic drug is given. Hyperthyroidism, chronic anxiety are some other causes. Provide reports for giving more comment.
