Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m normally very active with lots of energy (56 yo female) I m not over weight and consider myself to be healthy. I m concerned about new chronic daily fatigue. Also increased thirst and ruination. But I ve also upped my caffeine intake ( mostly to fight fatigue) any thoughts on this?
The first thing that comes to mind is diabetes. You need to get a blood sugar to make sure that you don't have this. Elevated blood sugar causes a person to urinate out the excess glucose and therefore they get very thirsty and dehydrated. This leads to fatigue. A simple blood test and Urine test can rule this out. Other thoughts would is your thyroid normal, are you anemic, or do you have any undiagnosed tick borne illnesses (unlikely based on the symptoms)? But based on what you stated with the urinary symptoms, ruling out diabetes is first and foremost.
