What Causes Chronic Feeling Of Pressure In The Head With Difficulty In Focusing?
Hello, I am having a very strange pressure in my head. It is constantly there and gets intense at times and I feel like I need to pop my ears, but it doesn t totally relieve the pressure. Also pain in my eyeballs. It seems to be exacerbated by drinking. After a night of drinking it s very intense pressure, but not the same headache feeling of a hangover. The pressure is there whether or not I drink. Also feeling disoriented and cannot focus.
Severe headache should be investigated. Any vision defect, vomiting, fever should be ruled out. Delayed alcohol induced headache could be the cause. Blood sugar and blood pressure levels should be checked. Tension headache and migraine should also be excluded. Sinusitis and glaucoma which causes raised pressure within the eye ball should also be checked. CT brain should be taken to identify any hemorrhage, infarct or vascular abnormalities.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
