Hello,
You have history of MG.
Myasthenia gravis patients often complain of headache. It can be tension or
cluster headache that is triggered due to
depression, feeling of tiredness all the time, irritability, food cravings,
dehydration, etc. You are presently experiencing pounding headache when you lay down in supine position. Cervicogenic headaches begins as a dull ache in the neck and radiates upward along the back of the head, almost always one-sided. Pain may also spread to the forehead, temple or around the eyes and ears.
The cause of cervicogenic headache is underlying disc, joint, muscle, or nerve disorder in the neck. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an Orthopedics or GP. Get X-ray, MRI, CT done for the
cervical vertebrae to detect the pathology causing you discomfort so that the treatment can be started at the earliest. You will be treated with medicines and
physiotherapy. Surgery if needed. In the meantime, take
acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS after food to get relieve from pain.
You can also apply pain relieving ointments and sprays (Volini) to ease discomfort. Gentle massage may help. Stay adequately hydrated. Maintain your eating time table and take quality sleep. Inadequate sleep or lack of sleep triggers the symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
