What Causes Chronic Itching On The Toes?

chronic itchy toes on both feet, at the part where they join the foot, and in between toes, and along base of nail, although the right one is worse, tried everything, not getting any sleep, have to get up in the night and get ice cubes to try and numb the itch. Driving me mad! I also recently had Gout on the toe next to my pinky on my left foot. I had this condition recently, but it did clear up, I was self-medicating. Now it s back with a vengeance!

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
Chronic itching toes the way you describe points to a fungal infection. It may not be a gout attack as gout does not only manifest with itchy toes.I will suggest you see the Doctor to examine your toes.If any arguments in favour of a fungal infection, anti-fungal drugs may be prescribed. Also, your Doctor will also have to exclude a bacteria infection like impetigo.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
