What Causes Chronic Nasal Blockage With Blood In Phlegm?

So, my nose has been feeling stuffy all day, even the back of my throat where my nose and throat meet felt lodged. I kept blowing my nose nd nothing. So, I snorted in really hard, and big boogers, a little smalled than a dime came out, and they had red blood in them. Any idea why ?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have nasal blockage and blood in phlegm . Well the symptoms ou mention in query occur due to may reasons like nasal polyp or sinusitis . The mucous at the back of the throat occur due to post nasal drip . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup . Doctor may order nasal endoscopy , blood test , CT scan or X ray to find out exact cause and rule out others . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic course at least for 10 days along with decongestant and mucolytic agent . Doctor may also recommend surgically removel of polyps . For noe take steam twice a day and do saline nasal rinses .
