What Causes Chronic Pain Below The Rib Cage Along With Severe Nausea?

My symptom started yesterday with intense nausea and what I thought were chills and fever episodes, yet every time I took my temp, it was normal. Today I have a constant pain under my left rib cage and what feel like a bulge which is very tender. I haven t been able to go to the bathroom or eat, and still get waves of nausea... Could this be a twisted or obstructed intestine?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In my opinion the symptoms seem to be related to the presence of gas in the intestine.

I recommend using buscopan for the pain.

I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication for the fever such as Acetaminophen.

If the symptoms continue you should do an ultrasound for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
