i am experiencing chronic pain in the left groin area. soemtimes the lymph is swollen it has persisted for a few weeks everyday all day. it use to be occcasional usuaslly before my peiod what might be the problem and who should i see to have it checked . in the past i had a mri

Hi ,
Thanks for writing in. usually chronic pain in groin area and inflammed lymph nodes suggest pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). i suggest you consult a gynaecologist as there are many causes that lead to PID. i think the consultant will guide you regarding the tests (Blood tests, urine test, ultrasonography).he/she will give you the required medication to bring down the pain and infection with anti inflammatory drugs and antibiotics.
