What Causes Chronic Pain In The Foot?

I have pain in my left foot near the heel. When I get out of bed I have a lot of pain. After I stretch my foot it seems to subside, but if I sit for a while upon standing the pain returns. Is this plantar fasciitis again? I had it over 10 years ago and I got rid of it through lithotripsy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern.

Your symptoms could be due to plantar fasciitis, calcaneal bursitis
Following are the risk factors: overweight, chronic standing, excessive exercise.
I would suggest to consult orthopedic surgeon and undergo examination and x ray/USG scan if needed.
Following treatment will help you:
Complete rest
Soak leg in warm water with added epsoam salt
NSAIDS: ibuprufen
Wear orthotic device
If not respond do above
You can take shockwave therapy
Injection of steroids
Further treatment plan will depend on response to treatment and cause.
Hope this may help you

Contact further if follow up needed
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
