What Causes Chronic Pain In The Shoulders?

I have been having chronic shoulder pain for the past 3weeks. Left and right. Upon xray doctor said I have bursitis in left and arthritis in right. I got cortisone shots in each. Helped with the left, not the right. Pain is worse. I am disabled, on Medicare, and doctor said I have to have pt before he can order an MRI. Symptoms are burning, aching, muscle pain, weakness, numb pinky and ring. I have ddd and have had 8 spinal surgeries. They said it is not my neck. Rom is minimal. I am 60yrs old, been disabled since 2005.

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

I would advise you to do a bone scan. Also would advise you to do a blood test for uric acid. For pain non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
