Hello,
Your friends mother is suffering from chronic blisters on the joints. It may be indicative of arthritis with blisters. The symptoms are joint pain, stiffness, redness, warmth, stiffness, blisters.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder that often affects the hands and feet. You are suggested to get your friends mother clinically examined by a
Rheumatologist. Get her the required blood tests, x-ray and other investigations done.
Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are
osteoarthritis, gout, lupus,
fibromyalgia, and
septic arthritis. Physical examination may confirm the diagnosis, or may indicate systemic disease. Radiographs are often used to follow progression or help assess severity. Blood tests and X-rays of the affected joints often are performed to make the diagnosis.
Screening blood tests are indicated for detailed study. She should get
rheumatoid factor, antinuclear factor (ANF), extractable nuclear antigen, and specific
antibodies tests done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. She should include anti-inflammatory food in her regular diet. She should also get connected to a physical therapist for finger, hand and wrist exercises. Exercises will initially cause pain but will slowly reduce it as the joint flexibility increases. Regular walking is recommended. Get her treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
