What Causes Chronic Pressure Headaches In Back/sides Of Head And Taste Disorder?

Yes, along with chronic pressure headaches in the back and sides of my head, my taste has been altered for about two months- ( the headaches-8 months) so all food tastes like it is coated with gum or soap - difficult to describe but eating and cooking or anything to do with food is very unpleasant - sometimes zinc supplements help- sometimes not- this also triggers depression as no one has been able to help- can you?the latest diagnosis of many has been that I have sphenobasilar compression - what do you think? thanks - Cami Lien-

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to an intracranial lesion. The sphenobasilar compression could partially explain your symptoms.

I would like to review your brain MRI for another professional opinion.

If you have not performed a brain MRI, it would be necessary to perform one.

If abnormal findings are encountered you should consult with a neurosurgeon for the possibility of surgery.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
