I am a 24 year old male I have had a sore throat for about 3 weeks no other symptoms no history of allergies or acid re-flux. At first the soreness was in the back of my throat near my tonsils but today it has moved down to where my adams apple is. I'm going to the doctor soon but i would just like to now if i should be worried about my condition.
Chronic soreness in throat which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection and due to viral pharyngitis and sometimes infection from upper respiratory tract get spread down and leads to these symptoms and causing laryngitis. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis without any delay and order throat swab test and blood test. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial for at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory and decongestant. You should apply warm compresses to throat externally. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Dr. Harry Maheshwari
