Hi,
Chronic swelling of lymph nodes below the jawline can be caused by various factors, including infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Infections such as
strep throat,
mononucleosis, and tooth abscesses can cause lymph nodes to swell. Autoimmune diseases such as lupus and
rheumatoid arthritis can also cause lymph nodes to become enlarged. Rarely,
lymphoma or other cancers can cause chronic swelling of lymph nodes.
Given your other symptoms, such as sore and swollen elbows, nodules on both thyroids, and small nodules on your throat, it is important to continue working with your healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms. A
biopsy may be necessary to confirm a diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment. While multiple symptoms can occur without an underlying medical condition, it is important to rule out potential causes and seek appropriate medical care.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
