Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Swelling In The Legs With History Of Hypoxia?
both of my legs are swollen. I have had ultrasounds which are neg. I have hypoxia. my o2 is around 77 and it started about 2 months ago. I have had CHF workups. blood work was pos. but other tests were neg. I had cat scan on my lungs which were neg. chest xrays and regular labs were all ok. any ideas?
CHF itself can cause welling / edema of both legs. Since you have hypoxia also, it is possible that a chronic lung condition has lead to CHF(core pulmonale). But to comment on the cause of CHF, we have to go through all the clinical details including investigation reports. Your doctor might discuss in detail.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
