What Causes Clear And Watery Vaginal Discharge After Implanon Removal?

Hi there, I had Implanon removed 8 months ago (only after having it a year) because it was seriously not working for me. I spotted throughout the year among other side effects. Since its removal, my periods are back on track, but for the first week after every period I have extremely watery, clear discharge. I have to wear a panty liner. Initially thought it was incontinence, but my GP confirmed its vaginal discharge. Help! What is this and will it go away?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This vaginal discharge could be due to hormonal imbalance after Implanon removal. It might take a few more months before it is totally cleared if this is the case. However, should get vaginal swab testing and discharge culture and sensitivity testing to rule out vaginal infection, and treat it adequately. Discuss this with your caring doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
