What Causes Clear Blister On Thigh And Foot?

What would cause a clear blister on the thigh. This occurred on the way home from a weekend in a cabin in NC about a 2 weeks ago. The blister would burst & then reform. I spent the past week at the beach in SC and just noticed another blister forming on my foot and possibly one forming on the other foot. I plan to contact my dermatologist in the am. Any ideas on what this could be? I am a woman in my 70 s. Thank you.

Hello,

Blisters are most often caused by skin being damaged by friction or heat. You need to see your doctor if you have worsening redness, pain and swelling. If fluid changes its color and odor. Other possibilities include pemphigus or eczema as well. I suggest you to visit your dermatologist if its not settling by itself or worsening with time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
