What Causes Clear Discharge From Ear?

Hello, I have been having ear problems. I have a clear discharge leakage and it has a funny smell and real sticky feeling. my ears itch and scab over real bad. it wakes me up at night leaking and itching real bad. it keeps me up and bothers me. it hurts and is very painful. i have used anitbotics and it clears up for a few days but then comes right back. its been over a year of having this

Ear discharge also known as otorrhea, is a condition that is caused by differnt factors.In a majority of time, the fluid leaking out of an ear is ear wax. Usually, It is normal a small amount of ear wax to be present outside of the ear. Ear wax’s function is to make sure to prevent accumulation of bacteria or dust in the ear, and to prevent infections.
Another common cause of ear discharge is the trauma to the ear canal.In this case, clear,ear fluid might be seen outside of the ear. Causes of a damaged eardrum include : Injury from foreign objects, or the usage of Q-Tips.
Other causes of ear discharge include Infections. In this cases you should seek for professional care, and start using apropriate antibiotics.
