What Causes Clear Discharge From The Navel?

A couple of times a month I have a clear or white discharge from my navel that turns yellow when it dries. In the early 2000s I had a tubal ligation and in 2006, I had a laprascopic hysterectomy. I don t have pain, but sometimes it itches; not always, though. I am wondering what the cause might be. Thank you

* As per my surgical experience, the issue of discharge from the navel is due to recurrent infection of the port site (umbilicus), after laparoscopic tubal ligation.
