What Causes Clear Fluid Discharge From The Areas Affected By Atopic Dermatitis?
Hi, I m a 26 year old female that has been suffering Atopic Dermatitis all over my body for 14 months. I m on topical steroid creams, which I apply once a day, along with heavy moisturizers. When my skin flares up, it oozes a clear, water-like liquid and develops a metallic smell. I ve been under the care and supervision of a Dermatologist team at my nearest hospital, but they haven t been able to give me any answers about the smell that develops. It s not a major concern, but I am curious as to what it could be.
It is an inflammatory fluid due to the breakage of minor blebs. Nothing much to worry about it. You can apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin after cleaning with soap and water. If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
