What Causes Clear Yellow Fluid Discharge From Nose After A Head Injury?
Hi I just got hit in the mouth by someone s head playing basketball, and shortly after yellow clear liquid started to come out of my nose. I looked up on Google and it may be something call csf rhinorrhea. Do I need to get checked by a doctor? Its been about an hour and I feel ok but I ve been just sitting down.
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
No its not SCF Rhinorrhoea. CSF Rhinorrhoea starts when there is damage to the base of skull in frontal areas. A very massive head injury leading to fracture of the cribriform plate leads to CSF flow through the nose.
It was some other fluid, may be blood mixed with nasal secretions.
I recommend you to consult an ENT Specialist to examine the nasal septal bone.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
