What Causes Clicking And Popping Sound In Knees When Moved?

Hi, I do not have pain, but my knees keep making a clicking and popping sound when trying to work-out. (squats, stairs, bike etc...) Is there something I should do or a vitamin I should take to help? Turning 40 in great shape, my mom has bad arthritis in her hands and I think I will too. Thank you, Heather

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The movement of the ligaments in the knees causes this motion.
If you dont have any other symtpoms such as pain or inflammation, no treatment is required.
There is no known supplement that will help with crepitus of the knee.
Glucosamine has helped with pain and stiffness.
You can also use vitamin D supplement.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
