What Causes Clicking Noise And Pain In The Knees?

My knees make this Sound of rubber rubbing together, and at times it really begins hurting. It usually hurts when i have Walked a bit and sit down. Also, Since last week i have been urinating much more frequently, and at times it feels like glass Shards are exiting my... Uhh, urinal pipe? Dont know the medical term/name. I have looked online for answers for both but all i find is people saying go to the doctor, nothing that can relieve the pain temporarily. I myself Think it might be a bladder infection and some damaged soft tissue in the knees. What do you Think?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about painful knees and painful urination.
The you have put in the information you really need to go for the following:
Clinical evaluation, examination and investigations for both the conditions separately.
First of all, consult your primary Physician and thus get preliminary diagnosis to be supported by following investigations:
Blood for CBC to see for infection, RA factor for knee problem and other investigations for diabetes, liver, kidney and thyroid functions.
Tests of Urine for routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Ultrasonography of abdomen, particularly for genitourinary system.
MRI of the knee joints.
All this will lead to a proper diagnosis of both the conditions and thus allow a proper management with appropriate antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and supportive medications.
If needed then a Specialist's opinion say by an Urologist, Orthopedic Surgeon will help for further management as per the conditions diagnosed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
