What Causes Clicking Noise From Right Side Of Head When Yawn/swallow?
Hi, I have had this for years, and it has puzzled me every time I have thought about it. Every time I yawn or swallow, I hear clicking noises from the left for right side of my head. Never caused problems.. it is almost satisfactory, but it would be great to know what it is. Thanks, Matthew

Good afternooon Matthew the problem which you are experiencing is probably Temporomandibular joint clicking, this occurs usually when you tend to open your mouth wider than normal limit, this might cause a problem in later stages, but as of now, you need not to worry, nevertheless you should be cautious of following things:- 1) not to open the mouth wide enough as to have a motuh opening of nearly 4cm. 2) if you are biting something big, like jumbo burger or a sandwich, you must take small bites. 3) if you are yawning, try to support your chin against the motion of mouth opening. In my opinion you must see a physiotherapist who can guide you to do jaw restraing exercises. hope this will help you
