What Causes Clicking Sound In My Knees?

I am a Srilankan age 52 weight 76kg height 5ft 7 inch. I use to walk about 8kms in the morning and recently started clicking knees. Some time with pain. Especially in the morning when I get up from toilet or when i bend my
leg the noise comes. Pls give some advise and medicine.
