What Causes Clogged Ears And Mild Popping Sensation?
My right ear seems blocked and I get a slight popping sensation every now and then. I have tried steam inhaling for the past week now and it is no better. I also wear hearing aids. I have had a perforated ear within the last year and have seen an ENT consultant about that.
Understanding your concern. as per your query clogged ears and mild popping sensation and history of perforated ear drum pointing towards a condition known as Eustachian tube dysfunction. This dysfunction occur when the tube get blocked due to wax and mucous produced by infections like upper respiratory track infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. You should do more jaw movements to prevent clogging. Doctor may recommend you few exercises like blowing air with closed nose and mouth. Doctor may also prescribe decongestant to reduce the swelling of the lining of the tubes, antihistamine and antibiotics. You should put anti-inflammatory ear drops. Doctor will examine your ear canals and eardrums, and your nasal passages and the back of your throat.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
