Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My ear feels stuffed up, like it has cotton in it, I have ringing in it, and I can hear. I went to the ENT earlier this week who said I had blisters on the drum and gave me drops and antibiotics. Another MD whom I work with looked at it later in the week and said there was a small hole in the ear drum. Is the stuffiness and hearing loss a result of a perforated ear drum?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of clogged ears which is due to ear infection, wax buildup, and could be due to foreign body penetration in ear.
Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to visit Otolaryngologist/ ENT specialist once and get it evaluated and start treatment after proper examination. Get all the lab tests done and complete examination with otoscope. Apply warm compresses on ear and avoid excessive bending forward. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest. Try to avoid pricking it with any sharp object. You should avoid sleeping on this side.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
