What Causes Clogging Sensation In The Ear While On Prednisone?

I Am currently taking prednisone and z-PAC for sore throat. Today is day 4 of both prescriptions. Z-PAC will end tomorrow and prednisone will end on Friday. This morning, I experienced clogging in my right ear, like being on an airplane. I now have temporary impaired hearing in that ear. Should this happen while I m currently on the two medications that I listed above?

Hi,

No, I don't think your clogging sensations or decreased hearing are due to prednisone and azithromycin (Z pack). None of these drugs causes these symptoms.

So better to consult ENT doctor and get done a clinical examination of ears. You might be having an ear problem like an infection.
