What Causes Cloudy Urination?
Hi Dr. Rynne, For the last, I would probably say 2 years, I have had cloudy and viscous-y type urine. Since I ve noticed, I have been too embarrassed to go in. My health hasn t seemed to have declined physically every since I ve noticed. How should I proceed?

Hi,
The most common cause of cloudy urine is protein leakage from the kidney tubules for various reasons.
Primary evaluation should be with urine microscopy, kidney function tests of creatinine, urea clearance and CT scan of KUB with contrast if the creatinine is normal.
