What Causes Cloudy Urine And Insomnia While Treating Tooth Pain?

I recently went to ER for terrible tooth pain. Was given rx for both penicillin vk 500 mg tabs as well as oxycodone/acetaminophen 5-325. I am taking 1 of each every 6 hours (sometimes 1.5 of the latter) as directed. Other than eating less due to pain and swelling in my mouth, my diet is otherwise unchanged. I smoke about half a pack a day, and am drinking just as much water as normal. My new symptoms are insomnia, yellow and cloudy urine, sweet smelling sweat, a semi sweet metallic taste in my mouth, and lowered sex drive. How concerned should I be?

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONCERN.

As per your query you have symptoms of cloudy urine, insomnia , metallic taste in mouth which is because you took very strong antibiotics for tooth pain. This antibiotic combination gave you such symptoms.

I would suggest you not to worry much for these symptoms as these are very temporary and they will resolve soon once you will taper off antibiotics combination. Take few preventive measures such as take probiotic supplements along with antibiotics. Take herbs such as milk thistle as that act as antioxidant for liver. Take green tea or herbal tea if on antibiotics.

Visit your dentist once and get your teeth examined once if there is any cavity or lesion . get x-ray done and start treatment accordingly.
