What Causes Cloudy Yellowish Brown Vaginal Discharge?

Hello, I m 21 years old. For the past two weeks, I ve been experiencing abnormal vaginal discharge. For the first week, it was smelly, cloudy, cheesy and yellowish white. This week, it started turning tan, brown, not as smelly, but lots of bright orange discharge. Do I have some kind of infection? My period should be coming at the end of the month, I plan on seeing a gynecologist ASAP. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial vaginosis. I suggest to do a vaginal swab test for further evaluation. If the symptoms continue, I suggest using a cycle of antibiotics such as Metronidazole. You should consult your gynecologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
