What Causes Clumsy Nature And Difficulty Walking In A Dancer?

I used to be a dancer. Now I walk like I ve had 3 Martinis. I ve taken a few falls and fortunatly have not broken any bones. Just cuts and bruises and one slightly fractured wrist. I FEEL SO CLUMBY. I M A SENIOR BUT THIS MUST BE MORE THAN AGE I M THINKING.

Hi,

Coordination is determined by many things including: attention, sensation of our feet; ankle and leg strength, inner ear balance, vision, and the brain. Any problem in one of those can increase coordination issues. It isn't a simple workup since there are many possibilities but the first step would be to see a medical professional for a physical exam and he or she can order further testing if required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Timothy Wong, General & Family Physician
