Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A cluster of bumps appeared inside my mouth last night. They are very small. Some are white and some have what appears to be a white head on them. They do not hurt whatsoever. The cluster is about the diameter of a quarter. Located on the inside of my cheek towards that back. Any ideas as to what this could be?
Thanks for your query . The symptom you mention in query are indicating a condition known as oral thrush . It is fungal infection of mouth which occur due to many reasons like weakened immunity ,stress , hormonal changes or certain medicines which destroy normal flora of mouth . There are certain medical conditions also which are responsible for its occurrence like diabetes and HIV.
I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing twice daily ,do listrine mouthwash rinses once a day , avoid sugary foods and avoid smoking (if you have habit)
I condition still persist then consult dentist /oral pathologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe anti fungal medicines (acyclovir) for 10 -15 days . If they does not work doctor may prescribe amphotiricin B.
